Creating page content

To create new content elements, it is best to use the “Page” module.

Content

  • Prerequisite
  • Creating content elements - step-by-step
  • The editing form
  • Saving content elements
  • Editing content elements
  • Deleting a content element
  • Column selection

Prerequisite

Before you can create content elements, the desired page must already exist in the page tree. Content cannot be created unless the corresponding pages have been set up first.

Creating content elements - step-by-step

Step 1: Open the Pages Module

  • In the module bar, click the Pages icon (Pages module).

Step 2: Select the Target Page

  • In the page tree, click the page where the content element should appear.

Step 3: Add a New Content Element

  • In the workspace, click “+ Content” (or the plus icon between existing elements).
  • The content element selection dialog opens.
  • Select the desired content type (e.g., “Text & Media”).
  • The editing form opens.

The editing form

After selecting the content type, the editing form opens with several tabs:

TabContent
GeneralHeading, subheading, type, text (RTE), media
AppearanceFrame, spacing, layout options
AccessVisibility settings, scheduling
CategoriesAssignment to content categories

Required field: The “Heading” field should always be completed, even if the heading will be hidden in the frontend. This improves clarity and content management in the backend.

Saving content elements

  • Save and Close: Click the disk icon (top left). The form is saved and closed.
  • Save and Continue Editing: Click "Save" to keep your changes without closing the form.
  • Discard Changes: Click "Close" without saving to exit the form and discard any unsaved changes.

Editing content elements

To edit an existing content element, click the pencil icon next to the respective element in the Pages module.

  • The editing form opens.
  • Make the required changes.
  • Save your changes using Save or Save and Close.

Deleting a content element

  • Click the trash bin icon next to the content element.
  • Confirm the security prompt.
  • The element is moved to the recycle bin.

Note: Deleted content elements remain in the recycle bin for 400 days and can be restored by the editorial management team during this period.

Note

Simply disabling a content element is not sufficient. Outdated content elements should be deleted completely to keep pages organized and maintain content quality. Use the trash bin icon to remove elements that are no longer needed.

Column selection

When creating a content element, you can specify which column the element should be inserted into:

ColumnDescription
Main ContentPrimary content area (default)
Right SidebarAvailable only in layouts with three columns

Note

The available column options depend on the page layout. The Right Sidebar can only be selected if the page uses a three-column layout. See “Page layout”.
