Insert records
"Insert Records" allows you to display an existing content element from another page on the current page without copying it. When the original element is updated, all references automatically reflect the change.
Typical use case
A contact block (e.g., address, contact person, or company details) needs to appear identically on multiple pages. You maintain it in one central location and include it on all other pages using Insert Records.
Creating insert records – step by step
- Create a new content element of type "Insert Records" (group: Special).
- Click the "Browse Records" button (folder icon).
- A selection dialog opens.
- In the left pane, navigate to the page that contains the desired content element.
- Select the required content element.
- It will appear in the reference list of the Insert Records element.
- Fill in the Header field (the title is not displayed in the frontend, but helps identify the element in the backend).
- Save your changes.
Notes
Recommendation: Do not leave the Header field empty. Without a title, the element will be labeled "No title" in the backend, making it harder to identify. The header is not displayed in the frontend.
Clear the cache after changes: If an update to the original content element does not immediately appear in the referenced Insert Records elements, clear the page cache using the lightning bolt icon in the top toolbar.
