Do I need a separate user account for the TUMFIS Portal?
Yes. You can apply for an account through the TUMFIS wiki here.
How up-to-date is the data in TYPO3?
A “delta sync” (only new and changed data) runs every night due to the large volume of data, and a “full sync” (all data) runs on Sundays. Therefore, there may be a delay of up to 24 hours.
Why are not all publications displayed?
Only publications with the publication status “Published” or “Accepted/In press” and the workflow status “approved” are delivered via the interface for display.
Why are not all projects displayed?
Only projects with the status “validated” are transferred to TYPO3.
Why are publications displayed more than once?
Both the TYPO3 extension and the API perform validation and deduplication of publications. The duplicates encountered so far also exist in the FIS source system - they have different IDs and were entered by different chairs or professorships.
Why is the title of my work cut off after a colon?
Everything after the colon is technically stored in the “Subtitle” field. Please enable this field to display the full title.
Will FIS eventually replace mediaTUM?
FIS is intended to become the central data source for all publications. mediaTUM remains the publication platform for works not published by external publishers or platforms.
Is there an interface between mediaTUM and FIS?
No, unfortunately, such an interface does not currently exist. The University Library (UB) is actively working on it.
