Backend

The backend is the administration area where editors and administrators can edit content without needing any HTML knowledge.

Access to the backend

Simply add “/typo3” to the URL of your website.
Example: www.your-site.tum.de/typo3

You will then be taken to the login page. Log in using your TUM credentials.

Structure of the backend

The backend is divided into three areas:

Module bar (See figure, no. 1): Access to all backend modules
Page tree (See figure, no. 2): Hierarchical overview of all pages of the website
Content area (See figure, no. 3): Main area for editing pages and content

Above the three columns (See figure, no. 4) is the header bar. Using the two icons (See figure, no. 5), you can expand or collapse the module bar and the page tree to free up more workspace.
